Horror Podcasts + Books

Hi, thinking about how other people in this class I'm taking may find info about their related horror movies through podcasts, so I'm going to post links to podcasts that discuss horror films and books.

FACULTY OF HORROR: a podcast that allows you to use the index to search for episodes about dozens of movies (293 to be exact). While I couldn't find Teeth or Scream 4, there is a podcast focused on Interview with the Vampire and Get Out. The podcast updates every couple of weeks and hosts are based in Toronto.

THE BLOODLUST: Proclaimed as the a podcast by "four classy broad and one token dude," this podcast looks at recent movies reviewing them "artfully and sarcsastically. " Their latest review is about the movie Dashcam

STRAIGHT CHILLING: Based out of Jacksonville, FL this podcast is by a group of freiends who meet every week and talk about movies and shows including season four of Stranger Things, The Black Phone starring Ethan Hawke, and Possum

JUMPSCARE!: Betty B Deadly and Shad Youngblood explore the horror genre in all of it’s aspects. Let’s run into the woods, read incantations from a book, and pull out our Ouija board together. Recent movie reviews include a retropsective glimpse of John Carpenter's The Thing and David Cronenberg's upcoming horror release, Crimes of the Future.

HORROR QUEERS: I listened to their podcast about the movie I'm researching, Raw, and they have a whole treasure trove of reviews of films, watching them through a queer lens and also giving great, deatiled responses. Here's their description: "
Each week, queer hosts Joe Lipsett and Trace Thurman discuss a horror film with LGBTQ+ themes, a high camp quotient or both."

THE EVOLUTION OF HORROR: Produced and created by Mike Muncer, this podcast looks at all aspects of the horror genre. It breaks down podcast categories into ghosts, alients, slashers, folk, zombies, vampires, mind and body, occult, and others. Go here if you're lookg for a particular category--content is updated frequently. Really smart and thorough and they get good guests.
