Friday Photographs: Not Exciting

Image
Not a great week for photographs; can't really say why, because I did have my eyes peeled on most of my walks. I guess there were 2 mornings this past week when I didn't talk my longer route, so had less to go on. Plus, maybe I've finally run out of interesting Philadelphia windows. Don't think so. Especially since they tend to change with the seasons. Below, please find a chaotically patched cat for your review. Here is a spooky cat. Only because he's looking down at you from above, like, Beware the mulberry bush. Many gargoyles and then one ceramic cat. This door knocker can be found somewhere along Spruce--maybe between 15-16. You may not be able to tell from the smaller photograph, but the knocker is a lion. People in Philadelphia seem to love lions. I am cranky today. Didn't get much sleep last night (maybe like three hours?), and I'm not complaining about the reason why and then there's all this sort of strange work stuff going on and I don't...

More Pictures Plus Blood

Image
So, I made it through my latest dental appointment without too much trouble except for the excessive blood that keeps pouring into the back of my throat. I can't stop smiling at myself in the mirror and looking at the blood between my teeth. It appears that I've just lost/won a fight. I would take a picture but it's grody to the max. The oral surgeon was very nice. I had to have another one of those horrible shots to the roof of my mouth and he sang while he did it, "You're okay, you're okay, you're doing fine!" I paged through a magazine for a few moments while that half of my face went dead and he came back in and said, Now, tell me if you feel any of this. I thought he was just testing if I was numb and then he said, "One root out!" He had my head pressed against the side of his stomach and he was singing again, "Sit real still. Don't move. You're doing great! Keep still, almost there, don't move..." It was over in ...

Cat-astic + Five Friday Photos

Image
This has not been a particularly good week for window photos, as you will notice. In fact, here you see a rabbit plant carrier, not a window. Partly, it's because I kept forgetting to charge the battery in my camera and partly, it's because I think I've taken pictures of most of the interesting windows around where I live. Looks like I have to change neighborhoods. But anyway, I like how this rabbit looks as though he's smiling. Below, please find a clear-eyed tabby--I think he's actually standing in a doorway rather than a window. He looks like Emma Carol's soul mate. What a tragedy that never the twain shall meet. Here is a Siamese cat flirting with Lisa Marie and me. I took this photo on the way back from brunch with her and John at Sabrina's. It has occured to me lately that I may be turning into a misanthrope. At Sabrina's, for instance, I found it totally irritating that when we were offered a table inside, this bunch of people who said they wante...

Five on Friday Plus Un-Deep Dreams

Image
I guess I should be glad that not all the dreams I have are stressful. However, it is distressing that they are often superficial. Last night, for instance, my dreams featured Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. And KH's mother, whom I met while out shopping. She had stopped to look at a bunch of alligators in a nearby tank (they weren't dangerous). I tried to play it really cool; everyone else was turning around to look at her and take her photo (as if KH's mother has a well-recognized face). I think I did end up talking to her briefly. After her mom had left, Katie showed up. I said, Oh, I just ran into your mom. We chatted for awhile. Tom Cruise showed up shortly afterwards, looking as he did in the movie Magnolia . We all made plans to meet in Brooklyn next weekend. Gave Liz a paper tiara for her birthday and some stick on earrings. There was a guy at the bar in a wheelchair and I think I want to write a story about some girl dating a similar person; I could write a whole book...

Friday photos

Another week of photos. It was a slow week for cats though. Below, please find cat and ship model. Both very classic. This one smooshed her entire face on the window. Here is a bakery that displays gigantic and disgusting looking cakes. Click on the photo for a larger view. I liked the bling detail on this car's hood--some kind of intricate painting or other. Here is Paul Skoales, sitting on the table at C & P's. He is one of the rescued cats. He likes to lick the top of your feet. And his brother, sleek and trim Piper, no longer shy at all.

This Week in Windows/Cats

Image
First, we have the creche combined with a stuffed bunny and stuffed dog. Kitty in a store. She was more interested in the white Scottie dog walking by then she was in me. Sad black cat. No eye contact here either. Sleeping ginger cat who I woke up. Another ginger. This is the nervous dog I pet every morning when he's out. The owner never leaves him water, but he seems well-adjusted though skittish. Suspicious of me. The fabulous Emma Carol putting her fur on my clean dishes. Henri has five good minutes a day when he jumps on the bed while I'm reading and gets petted until Ernesto comes in and scares him off.

Five Days of Morning Pictures on the Walk to Work

Image
First, a window that competes with mine for Virgin Mary bling. Next, a cat who resembles Ernesto so much that I thought maybe he had escaped under my nose and been recaptured. My favorite part of 10th Street. Two stone lions plus flowers. Sometimes, I touch the tops of the heads of the lions for good luck. It hasn't yet become a compulsion, but you never know. This cat then pressed himself so hard against the glass that I could almost feel the thrum of his purr from the other side. Two more Ernesto look-a-likes, and good friends.
